Professional Experience: Mr. Cuozzo is the President and founder of Cuozzo Design Group, a planning and landscape architecture firm located in Stuart, Florida. He has over thirty years of public and private sector experience in planning and project management for many of the nation's largest builders and developers. He formerly was President of Houston Cuozzo Group, Inc. and held the position of senior planner for Martin County from 1979 to 1986. Mr Cuozzo is also a former licensed Captain by the United States Coast Guard and has made numerous trips from New York to South Florida along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Professional & Civic Associations: Mr. Cuozzo is a current member and past President of the Martin County Business Development Board. He is currently serving on the Martin County Board of Zoning Adjustment. He is also an active member of the local Builders Association and Palm City Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Cuozzo is also a former member of the Century Commission for a Sustainable Florida, Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council and past President of the Martin County Economic Council.
Unique Story: In the early 1980's Don and a friend departed from Miami for Bimini, Bahamas. They successfully made the 42 mile crossing in a 13 foot Boston Whaler with 12 gallons of fuel in the red deck fuel tanks. Unfortunately, the weather got bad and the seas got too rough to return to Stuart so Don and his friend had to spend two days sleeping on the pool chairs of the Big Game Club. The weather cleared and they made a safe return home.
